FAQs

Is there an age or year group restriction?

We don’t discriminate on age or year group. You can be first or final year at university or reskilling through a bootcamp. What matters is that you are interested in data science and technology and have *some* level of skills.

What skills or experience do I need to join?

You don’t need any work experience, that’s the whole point. And you don’t need to be a genius in math or any particular programming language. Each project is different but these are some of the skills that you need:

  • Basic data extraction from files (csv, txt…)
  • Basics of training an ML model (locally or using a third-party)
  • Basic data manipulation using you favorite programming language
  • Basic of using Git and a GitHub action
What do you mean by portfolio?

Our platform has two sides: a learning management system (where you access project content & resources) and a portfolio (where you can submit your work, reflect on how you approached the project, and showcase your skills).

GitHub focuses on your code. The portfolio focuses on your skills.

Can I use the portfolio in my other applications?

Yes! The portfolio helps you stand out from a crowd of similar applicants so feel free to send a link along with your CV or any other documents.

How will you help me get a job?

We will provide a variety of project opportunities for you to take part in. Some will be competitions, some will be paid work, and some will be job simulations. Based on the projects you submit to your portfolio, our platform will generate your skills profile. Employers will have access to these and will reach out directly to you. Soon, you will also be able to reach out directly to your ideal employers.

How do I earn rewards? What kind of rewards?

Each project will have it’s own prizes set its associated companies. This may include: discounts, merch, vouchers, cash, and more.
